This was my home from 1947 until (I think) 1951 when, like hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of other Americans, we moved to a new, suburban house where the only way to get somewhere was by car. The causes and the past, present and future implications of this huge unprecedented migration are explored in my book BOOM! - a baby boomer memoir, 1947-2022.
