Hip Hop Sidewalk Dancers, Manhattan, NY, early 80s [from pymca]

Rap/Hip Hop started in the Bronx in the mid 70s but most people were still unaware of it in the early 80s. On a trip to NYC in the early 80s I saw a number of Afro-American males using the extended rhythmic break (break = b = b-boys) as a form of busking. I love the sign behind them: 'Take the Lug Out of Luggage' (from the days when wheels on a suitcase was a weird new concept).
